SoilHue User Guide

1  Introduction

SoilHue lets you capture, analyse and classify soil colours using the Munsell colour system—an international standard for describing colour. With the app you can:

  • Capture or import photos of soil samples
  • Calibrate the camera for accurate colour readings
  • Select specific areas of a sample for analysis
  • Obtain Munsell notation plus a plain‑language soil description
  • Save and export your results

2  Camera Calibration

2.1 How to Calibrate

  1. Tap Calibrate Camera on the home screen.
  2. Place the included basic calibration card or a professional ColorChecker in view.
