  • Purpose: To capture soil sample images and perform color analysis.
  • Use: Images are processed locally on your device to determine Munsell color and soil classification.
  • Storage: Images are stored locally on your device and are not shared with external servers.

2. Location

  • Purpose: To record the location where soil samples were taken.
  • Use: Geographic coordinates are stored locally with each sample.
  • Storage: Location data is stored locally and is not shared with external servers.

3. Photo Library

  • Purpose: To save and access soil sample images.
  • Use: For exporting and sharing your analyses.
  • Storage: Images are saved to your local photo library.

4. Camera Calibration Data

  • Purpose: To improve color analysis accuracy by compensating for the deviations of your device's camera.
  • Use: When you calibrate the camera with a ColorChecker card, SoilHue computes a 3×3 correction matrix and a lighting-tint indicator.
  • Storage: These values are stored in the app's local preferences (UserDefaults) on your device. They never leave the phone.

Use of Information

The collected information is used exclusively for:

  • Processing and analyzing soil samples
  • Generating Munsell classifications
  • Storing your analyses locally
  • Exporting data when you request it

Data Storage

  • All data is stored locally on your device
  • We do not use external servers to store information
  • Analysis data is saved in the app's local storage

  • Data export is controlled exclusively by you
